Statute of Limitations - The time limit for your case.
In order to recover on a personal injury case in Utah, you must file within a specified period of time based on the type of injury and who you are suing. This time period is called the Statute of Limitations.
The statute of limitations for personal injury cases in Utah ranges from 1 to 4 years depending on the case. In order to avoid this statute, it is usually best to consult an attorney sooner rather than later.
You may not have any visual injuries now, but it could come out later and later may be too late.

Is it standard procedure after suing the responsible party for your auto injury, to then go after your own personal auto insurance for anything more involving your case?
ReplyDeleteYes Anonymous, it is called "Underinsured Motorist(UIM)" coverage. You should contact your insurance or look at your policy to make sure it includes "UIM." It is also very important to make sure you got the policy limits from the responsible parties insurance.
